![]() ![]() Pan-fried dumplings (seem made to order)Īs for the supposed poor service. Dry stir-fried green beans with garlic (without that thick gunky sauce)Ĥ. This place cooks at least 4 items that other local fast Chinses places do not seem to cook:Ģ. It would unfair to to compare this restaurant with a high-end restaurant or even an authentic Chinese restaurant otherwise. This Americanized fast-Chinese food restaurant deserves 5-stars for what it does well and for offering menu items that no other competitors around the area cooks. they probably ordered unpopular menu items. I'm confused why folks gave this place a low rating. To the wonderful owner, chef, and all the staff: Xièxiè ni :) If you want some delicious Chinese Food that will take you away from the traditional lo mein and general tsao's (not that there is anything wrong with that!) - Dumpling Queen is the place to go & these are the dishes to try! Packed a huge punch when i comes to flavor - i think they were marinated in some combination of soy sauce, 5 spice powder, and fish sauce and then fried & tossed with minced garlic and toasted sesame seeds. The pork ribs are $20 and are so worth it as they are a speciality of Northern China. In a different visit to this incredible restaurant - i got the Xinjiang Style Pork Fried Ribs and the Scallion Pancakes based of someone else's recommendation. Its SO good, I've gotten it twice (see second pic!) - and it comes in a chicken version and tofu version that i'll have to try! Instead of being served with a sauce, it is tossed in the most flavorful combination of things including dried red chillies, cilantro stems/leaves, roasted peanuts, minced garlic and sesame seeds. The crispy & spicy fish is literally one of the best dishes I've ever had! Its deep fried pieces of some type of white fish that is super tender and moist on the inside and crispy crunchy on the outside. Its so delicious and flavorful - i've gotten it multiple times (see second pic!) If your a garlic lover like me, the garlic cucumber veggie dish is for you as it is packed full of minced garlic and dressed in sesame oil. The first meal, I got crispy & spicy fish, garlic cucumbers and wontons in chili oil. Here are pics from three different meals (I highly recommend every dish I've tried!) plus the up to date menu so.you can get idea of the prices. ![]() She is incredible and is always working nonstop to serve her hungry patrons, she's the real MVP. This is my favorite place for Chinese food and such a gem! The main woman who works here always treats me so nicely and kindly. I consider Cheng’s as one of the better places for Chinese eats in their neighborhood. ![]() Prices seemed reasonable for the Chantilly area and provide a good value. Both flavors of mousse cake provides a welcome finish instead of the stereotypical fortune cookie, as the mousse proved smooth while the cake remained relatively moist. The stir fry has a generous protein portion and crisp veggies without a lot of excess sauce. The dumplings felt and tasted house made. The soup portion was satisfying with a milder spice level as I requested. I ordered hot and sour soup, steamed dumplings, stir fry with vegetables (adding shrimp), and both the mango mousse and chocolate mousse cakes. Try to time your order so you are waiting on the food rather than the food waiting on you so your order retains its freshness and thermal heat. The service routinely looks like what you would expect from a family-run establishment. The ability to customize your order for spice level, added proteins or veggies, salt level, and the like works well for me mostly. The ordering online went rather smoothly, and my order was waiting for me when I arrived a couple of minutes after the stated time. I visited most recently on a Thursday evening to get some comfort takeout.
